What Causes Swollen Feet — and Why Your Shoes Only Feel Tight by Afternoon
The same shoes that went on easily at eight in the morning have to be forced off at six. That is not the shoes changing. It is a measurable amount of fluid that arrived while you were standing in them.

Measure, do not remember. Memory is useless here, because the thing you are tracking changes by the hour.
Take a tape measure to the widest part of your foot, across the instep, at the same time every evening — an hour before bed — and write the number down.
