Why Your Ankles Swell by Evening — and Why It's Gone by Morning
Both ankles. Every evening. Normal again by breakfast. That daily round trip is the most useful clue you have, and almost nobody treats it as one.
You take your socks off around seven in the evening and there's a ring pressed into each ankle, deeper than it has any business being. Your shoes felt fine at nine that morning. They don't now.
Then you sleep, and by breakfast it's gone. Ankles normal. Nothing to point at, nothing to photograph, nothing you could show a doctor even if you wanted to.

Where the fluid is actually coming from

Measure, don't remember. Memory is useless here, because the thing you're tracking changes by the hour.
Take a tape measure to the narrowest part of your ankle at the same time every evening — an hour before bed — and write the number down.
